Silica Slurry
Silica slurry is a liquid polishing compound made of ultra-fine silica (SiO₂) particles suspended in water (sometimes with additives). It’s used in the final polishing stage of sample preparation to produce a very smooth, scratch-free surface.
In practical terms:

Epoxy Mounting Resin
MSS Epoxy Mounting Resin is engineered for high-precision metallographic and materials sample preparation, combining rapid curing with low shrinkage and excellent gap-filling performance. These characteristics ensure strong edge retention and dimensional stability, allowing delicate features, voids, and interfaces to be preserved during mounting.
Formulated to protect the original state of evidence, MSS epoxy minimizes mechanical stress and thermal distortion during encapsulation—making it especially suitable for failure analysis, microelectronics cross-sectioning, and advanced materials characterization. The resin flows easily into fine structures and microvias, providing reliable support for fragile samples prior to cutting, grinding, and polishing.
MSS mounting compounds are carefully manufactured and are available in both hot-cure and cold-cure formulations to accommodate different laboratory workflows and sample sensitivities. The system is supplied at a convenient 4:1 mixing ratio (1 quart of epoxy resin to 8 oz of hardener), ensuring consistent curing behavior and repeatable results.

Polishing Cloth
Polishing cloths play a critical role in the final stages of metallographic and materials sample preparation. Silicon Carbide (SiC) Grinding Papers
Silicon Carbide (SiC) grinding papers are essential consumables used in the initial and intermediate stages of materials sample preparation. Engineered with sharp, hard abrasive particles, SiC papers provide fast and controlled material removal, helping to flatten samples and eliminate surface damage prior to fine polishing.
Available in a wide range of grit sizes—from coarse grinding to very fine pre-polish—SiC papers enable progressive surface refinement while maintaining excellent flatness.
